Modern wedding at Knowlton Mansion, Philadelphia pa

This wedding was long anticipated and worth every second of the wait. From the start, I knew that Len & Kathy had something special. They won me over immediately with their fun, outgoing personalities and immense love for each other. When adversity was thrown their way they didn't even flinch. They got through it together even if that meant postponing their wedding. (It gave us more time to get excited, right?)

Once the big day arrived everyone was SO happy to be celebrating these two. Their vision came to life so beautifully. From the unique bridesmaid dresses to the gorgeous florals by Leroy's Florist, all of the fall colors really worked perfectly together. Not to mention Kathy's dress! Ok, I am not going to lie. I will forever be obsessed with Kathy's Victor Harper Couture wedding dress. It was one of the coolest dresses I've ever seen and she just looked so stunning in it I think it was made for her! The wedding party got ready at the Renaissance Philadelphia downtown hotel and I have two words for you: dark. walls. Nothing makes me happier than a neutral hotel with dark walls. It was the perfect location for their getting-ready photos. Following the hotel we headed over to Hill Physick House to capture a sentimental first look in the location where they had their first date. Hill Physick House provided us with both the brick/city feel along with some nice greenery with the garden around the back. Kathy then surprised Len with a rare bottle of whiskey that also held special meaning to them (she had to have a friend buy it and ship it to her as she didn't have access to buy it herself - a very covert operation haha). As a whiskey lover myself, I thought this was awesome.

Once we got to Knowlton Mansion we hit the ground running making sure to get as much time as we could for the couple photos around the property. I absolutely love this venue so I always make sure to factor in plenty of time to get lots of outdoor and indoor shots! It started to unexpectedly rain during their outdoor ceremony but no one seemed to mind, especially Kathy & Len. Nothing could take away from their long-awaited moment and the ceremony was one of the sweetest I've seen. That seemed to be a running theme for me. Everything about this wedding was so heartfelt, even the speeches left everyone in tears. Did everything go exactly as planned? Certainly not. Did the shuttle get stuck behind a broken-down tow truck? It sure did. Did the wedding party move the truck in their suits and dresses? You betcha! Did we have the best day ever? YES! They may have had to wait a little longer than they wanted for this day, but it was well worth the wait.
