Moody wedding at Oakbourne Mansion
Shay and Wil’s wedding at Oakbourne Mansion was pretty much everything I love about a wedding day. Moody, relaxed, a little unconventional, and full of personality.
Oakbourne is already such a cool backdrop. The historic mansion has tons of character, with dark stone, old architectural details, and a bunch of gorgeous outdoor spaces surrounding it. But honestly, Shay and Wil could have gotten married just about anywhere and made it their own. These two had such a great vibe.
Their style felt effortless and a little edgy and I was here for it. A black, gold and burgundy color scheme perfectly complemented their Victorian gothic vibe. They incorporated their love of reading with gorgeous handmade paper flowers constructed from pages of books. Their centerpieces included many books from Shay's personal collection which was a nice personal touch. Shay's dress from Ghost London had a vintage quality that perfectly paired with her black boots and dark accents.
Overall, I feel like these two are a perfect example of how a wedding should be. Nothing seemed overly staged or like they were trying to fit into some idea of what a wedding is supposed to look like. It just felt like them and it was perfect.
