Moody wedding at Camelback Summit House
Okay, so getting married on top of a mountain is already a pretty solid idea. Capturing a wedding on top of a mountain with a couple who is funny, completely down to earth, and clearly just there to have a good time? Even better.
This wedding at the Summit House at Camelback Resort was such a fun one. Marissa & Dave were the kind of people who didn't sweat the small things. They were relaxed, hilarious, and just genuinely happy to be there. There were plenty of sentimental moments throughout the day, but nothing felt overly serious (i.e. Dave's dancing throughout the day haha). When it started raining moments before their outdoor ceremony, did they panic? Nope, just moved on to plan B and set up a beautiful indoor alternative.
In addition to their great energy, these two also had great style. Marissa looked stunning in her ivory wedding dress with a floral lace overlay. Her smoky eye was masterfully done (as usual) by the ladies at Makeup by Roxy, completing her perfect bridal look. Dave did a classic all-black suit with a patterned tie, which, in my humble opinion, you can never go wrong with! After they got ready, we got the epic mountain portraits, obviously, but also the goofy stuff, the real laughs, the little in-between moments, all the things that made the day feel like them.
It was such a joy celebrating these two. They did it right. Just hanging out, getting married, and having a really good time with their favorite people. Those are always my favorite weddings to photograph.
