MODERN Old City philadelphia WEDDING AT BISTRO ROMANO

Emily & Vinny are two of the kindest, warmest people in the world. When we first met at their Parque Ridley Creek engagement session they felt like old friends. I am so glad we got to take advantage of all the nature and greenery of Ridley Creek State Park because it was a nice contrast to the city feel of their Philadelphia micro-wedding.

I loved this modern city wedding. Emily & Vinny changed their plans from a traditional wedding to a low-key micro-wedding and I could not have been more on board. Their wedding was a stress-free day full of love, smiles and their closest friends and family. Their rings and Emily's beautiful necklace and bracelet were even made by a close friend, Maddie Hirsch, who owns her own local Philadelphia jewelry studio called Tshatshke. That morning, they both chose excellent locations for their getting-ready photos keeping in mind that natural light is best. Emily got ready at a local AirBnB (take notes, people!) and Vinny got ready at the Old City Marriott which has a nice modern, neutral tone making it an easy backdrop for those getting-ready photos. They both decided to do their first look at Headhouse because it was a sentimental location to them which I loved. Because they switched up the game plan, they were able to have a small ceremony and reception at Bistro Romano, a beautiful (and delicious) Italian restaurant in Philadelphia. With its exposed brick and wine barrels it was the perfect backdrop for their big day. Old City Flowers provided a classic touch with the white rose florals. We had plenty of time to wander the beautiful streets of Philadelphia and get lots of photos. It was a photographer's dream come true. Emily & Vinny were so laid back and such a delight to work with. It was the perfect day spent with those who matter the most.

Note to all of my couples: It's YOUR wedding day. Please don't feel the need to meet family or societal expectations. At the end of the day it is about your union and it should be exactly what the two of you want. So go ahead and do it your way, you won't regret it.
